Age Of Enlightenment

Elsa Sylvan for Elle September 09 styled by Camille Bidault-Waddington.

I love these simplistic yet whimsical photos/outfits. Definitely a guide to the way I want to look right now.

Tell Me Why Things Change But It Feels The Same

Vintage denim shirt, H&M scarf and harem jeans, Deena & Ozzy boots.

Everything on me in these photos has some commentary to go along with them. I recently found these boots at Buffalo Exchange. It was one of those purchases that were so good that you felt like not shopping anymore and just going home and trying them on with everything in your closet. To me they look like what would happen if someone told Martin Margiela to create his version of a cowboy boot.

As for everything else: The denim shirt, I've had since I was, like, 9. I found it a few years ago and began rewearing it. The scarf was probably my favorite one to wear my entire senior year of high school. And those jeans.. H&M called them "Harem jeans." The only thing harem-y about them is the small amount of extra material by the crotch. So in the end, they don't look like harem pants... They just kind of look like a saggy crotch. Oh well. I bought them because they were called harem jeans, and if you slap the word "harem" onto something, I'm probably gonna buy it. (Plus, they were only $5.)

XXXO

Thrifted tank, H&M pants, Zara shoes, vintage bag.

I got these insane pants while in Chicago and fell in love with them because of how outlandish and how un-me they were (I usually hate the color orange). They're a showstopping pair of pants that get stares where ever I take them. I wore this outfit to Freakcity LA on Saturday. I was hoping on seeing M.I.A. there (I didn't), and I ended up instead hanging out in the alley outside most of the time. I also almost got beat up by a belligerent Andy Dick, which other than wearing these pants and hearing M.I.A.'s song Teqkilla, was the highlight of night.

Sunshowers

Thrifted tank, H&M pants, F21 bag, nameless shoes.

Spent the day at Disneyland with Ali yesterday. I've been really into this black tank/wried pant/cool shoe clothing combo lately. Expect to see more of it. It's been so hot in SoCal lately, like, almost 100 degrees. Not fun! I miss the days of rain, gloom, and temperatures low enough to wear fur in. Also, excuse the horribly low-quality photos. They're low-quality, but I think they look a little nostalgic. And that's exactly how I feel at Disneyland in the Summertime.

Art Bitch

Vintage shirt and girdle, H&M bag, F21 boots.

Wore this to the opening of the Dennis Hopper exhibit at the MOCA in L.A. last night with my friend Denishia. Love the work of the late Dennis Hopper, so inspiring and influential. One of the highlights of the night was meeting the great Selma Blair (sweetest woman ever!) I caused quite a stir in this vintage girdle. I found it at Goodwill and realized that I had to wear it somewhere. I can't tell you how many stares I got or how many times my photo was taken, but I can tell you that it was a great night. Some lady passed me in the exhibit and said to her friend "You know, Madonna did it in the eighties... He's arrived now."

Polly Pocket

H&M bag.

I've been searching for the perfect shoulder bag for the summer. My requirements? Black, leather, with fun details. When I came across this perfect faux- Alexander Wang bag at H&M in Chicago, I was sold. It's perfect to throw all my shit into and go. I still have yet to use any of the tiny pockets.

Houstonlantavegas

1. Thrifted shirt, F21 liquid leggings, Target clutch, Zara shoes. Wore this outfit to a party on Firday. Decided to look like an Olsen.

2. Old Navy shirt, Tripp leather pants (that I cut into shorts), Target clutch, Zara shoes. Wore this for a night of partying in L.A. on Saturday. Walked around until these shoes were too much and had to be taken off. And I told you that you'd be seeing me in this shoe/clutch combo again.

3. Vintage striped shirt, Tyte jeans, Deena & Ozzy shoes. Wore this for the Fourth of July. Wanted to be patriotic, hence the red and white stripes and the sandals with the espadrille bottom. Overall a good Fourth, spent time with family, barbecued, did fireworks, and ended the night with a great game of beer pong. And lost.

Right Between The Eyes

T by Alexander Wang shirt, H&M cargos, Zara booties, Target clutch, vintage YSL sunglasses.

Shooting in a questionable, deserted alley in the middle of the day was never this much fun. To the left of me in these photos was a creepy motel with painted over windows. (Also- notice the flipped-sideways couch in the back of me... wtf.)

This is kind of a combination of two outfits I've been wearing a lot lately. Expect to see that combo of the shoes and bag again. I have this strange obsession of matching my shoes to my bag, and this is the only bag I have that matches these shoes. These shoes are so great. They're a little high, but easy to walk in and surprisingly comfortable. I've also been living in this shirt since I've, like, come back from Chicago. Can't wait for this weekend. Parties and the 4th of July. I still have nothing planned! But I know it will be fun. What are your plans for Independence day?
