Lady Of The Hour

As my taste in fashion continues to grow, my taste in music does as well. Ever since Lady Gaga has stepped on the scene, the music industry has gotten a refreshing new dose of eccentric style on a bad girl. She brought the electronic club music out of nightclubs and into the mainstream. I bought her album right after "Just Dance" came out and I am still addicted to it. Her style is definitely as infectous as her music.
Lady Gaga has been quite the rebel when it comes to fashion. Not falling into the trap of satin Roberto Cavalli gowns and Michael Kors bags, she pushes limits in everday-spandex and a fabulous platinum blonde mane. She is definitely someone I would shop with.
I'd love to see everything in her closet. For now, seeing all this is just as good:

Are these dresses Thierry Mugler? They look like Thierry Mugler. Love Thierry Mugler.

There is something very Louis Vuitton Spring '09 about this outfit.

A very Grace Jones moment here. Most people's wardrobe staples are jeans. Lady Gaga's staples are probably leotards.

What can I say? Girl has her own style.
And, like the divas before her, she works it.

The Outfits I Wore On Monday And Thursday

The oufit I wore on Monday was very 80's inspired.

The pants are H&M. The jacket and shoes are vintage. The fabulous Mick Jagger-esque scarf if from Target.
The outfit I wore on Thursday was a mix of Balenciaga Fall '07, boho, and parisian.

That is one of my favorite scarves. It's H&M. And those brown boots are vintage. One of the best vintage buys. The cardigan is Urban Outfitters.

The scarf. The glasses are actually my favorite glasses. They are vintage Yves Saint Laurents.

Photoshoot with Elise

So, at my high school, we have to this terrible, year long assignment called the Senior project. You have to choose a career of your interest and do multiple things with it (job shadowing, research paper, etc.) It's not the best assignment, either. When we picked our careers, I naturally chose the career of a fashion stylist. For the presentation of the powerpoint you need to create, you are allowed to do a demo. I was going to bring in my dress form and style a little black dress into different looks for different places. I decided I didn't want to lug around 50 pounds with me all day, so I chose to do a fashion photoshoot.

I asked my friend Elise to model for me, because I've always told her she should go into modeling, and because I wanted something natural, and Elise is one of the most naturally beautiful people I know. I dressed her in the hottest Spring trends, and incorporated my newfound taste of minimalism and simplicity. I also used a black/gray/white color palette that was very Spring 09. Everyone who saw my presentation enjoyed the photos (i think) and now you can!

A little bird named Google told the Teenage Clotheshorse what the theme for the famous annual Met Gala's theme is going to be this year....And that theme is SUPERMODELS!!! I think that is a genius theme for fashion's equivalent of the Oscars. I cannot wait to see what everyone will be wearing.
It has always been a dream of mine to attend this Gala. I think it trumps the Oscars, only because people like Stefano Pilati, Alexander Mcqueen, and Anna Wintour go to the Met and do not go to the Oscars. I can only dream of what I would wear. Last year, Andre Leon Talley wore a giant Chanel Couture cape, and two years before, he wore a fabulous Balenciaga one that harked back to the original Cristobal days. That is something I would not say "no" to.
Well, since I will not be going to the Met this year (sigh), I will show you some of my favorite supermodels of all time. Enjoy!

I love the Sartorialist. It's one of my favorite blogs. I find myself sometimes more inspired by his photos of people on the street than the shows on Style.com.

At Anna's House

Right now, I am at the fabulous Anna Flores's house. Yes, my best friend Anna Flores. Loves her!

I love her style! Anna is very boho. Browns and blacks are totally her style. Whenever I put on this one brown and black marni-esque necklace, I feel like her. Actually, whenever I even when I put on anything brown or leopard, I feel like an Anna wannabe! (which is maybe why I never buy anything brown or leopard.)

Anyways, the new shows from fashion week are in, and it is currently fashion week in Milan, Italy. Now, I am not usually a fan of Italian fashion, but I just looked at the Dolce & Gabbana show, ( a show that, in my mind, is always good but never a favorite of mine), and I looove it! It's a very black and white surrealist show (with a shot of intense pink). Very my style. Here are a few of my favorite looks from the show:
