The Start Of Something New

On Me: H&M jumpsuit, F21 sunglasses, vintage clutch, nameless sandals. On Ali: H&M striped shirt, F21 leggings and sunglasses, Steve Madden Bag, Betsey Johnson necklace, nameless sandals. On Anna: F21 dress and sunglasses, Juicy Couture bag, Target leggings, UO sandals, nameless hat.

The official start of Spring Break! Me and my girls headed to Venice Beach. The day included walking from Vencie to the Santa Monica Pier (and back!), more kush "doctors" than one could count, beautiful men, creepy old guys walking by the water, hunger, and difficult parking. A great way to kick off our first college spring break.

P.S. The jumpsuit I'm wearing: Loooove! On sale for $15! Great buy. I had to wear my hair in my face because when to the side, I look like I should be in some Tranny circus. Hair in face makes it less tranny but still very androgynous.

Just Call Me Testino

I spent last night shooting my old friend V around her apartment. I took creative control and went wild. I've always been interested in photography, and I think I did a pretty damn good job, I'm proud of it. I think these photos have an avant-garde feel to them, which is great because that is my favorite type of photography. Who knows? Maybe I'll start doing this on the side. Bruce Weber, watch your back.

Glitter On The Wet Street

Vintage cardigan and bag, H&M t-shirt and pants, F21 boots.

Snapped a few (grainy) photos of my outfit last night at Forever 21 as I was waiting for my friend Ali to get out of the dressing room. We were going to a bowling function for my school's Fashion Club, in which I managed to only make one strike and not win any of the prizes given out. (I didn't even win lowest score!) As for the title of this post, the streets were not wet, It's actually been really hot in SoCal lately. It's a great change from the arctic weather we've seen in past weeks, but I kind of want to retire the sandals and bring back the fur. Spring is almost here, but I just wish Winter wasn't leaving so fast! But if Winter were to stick around, that would mean no Spring break, which is coming up in, like, a week! No plans yet, but I guess we'll see what happens when it comes.

See It Through

Rodarte for Target shirt.

Ever since Rodarte did a line for Target, I've kind of been obsessed with this shirt. Actually, I was obsessed with the whole collection (it was one of the best Target/designer collaborations ever.)But Target wanted me to pay, like, twentysomething for a skimpy tulle shirt. Sorry, Target. I was ecstatic when I found this shirt on sale for seven bucks a few weeks ago. I think it is one of the most impractical things I own, it being see-through and totally rip-able and all. But I love it! I'm not sure where I'm wearing it to, but I really don't think that matters.

Torch Magazine Shoot: Take Two

On Firday, I got to live the dream again, styling my second shoot for the Torch magazine, my school's publication. I was so excited to work with Kristen again, the great photographer who beautifully shot my last fashion story. I used my friend Elise as the model, and I knew she would be perfect. (She modeled for me once before, check the archives.) The theme of the shoot was a type of "Borrowed from the boys" type thing, taking menswear and making it stylish for women. Overall, the shoot went very well, we finished in three hours. Every aspect of it was natural and effortless. I couldn't have asked for a better team, thank you, Kristen and Elise!

Energy's In The Air

F21 poncho, vintage chambray shirt, clutch, and boots, Target leggings.

As of now, I am obsessed with this white hooded poncho I scored at Forever 21. It's gonna be my new best friend, I can already tell. It's just so cool, and I love the fringe at the bottom. Unfortunately, it didn't keep me warm at all today (it was sunny as hell but freezing and terribly windy, I love California). But that's okay. I am among the few that would freeze for an amazing poncho.

And I Just Can't Wait

Vintage jumpsuit and bag, F21 parka and sunglasses, BDG cardigan, Deena & Ozzy shoes.

Feeling a little utilitarian today. Wanted to wear these new cutout shoes from UO. They look like a mix of YSL cage booties, Ann Demeulemeester lace ups, and Y-3 sneakers. Also wanted to wear those glasses that I haven't worn in a while (because I thought I lost them). They remind me of Lady Gaga's John Lennon glasses. I seriously can't get enough of this parka, I think I wear it every day. It's my back-up plan, my gym coat, my rainy day coat, my everything! Some people have lovers, I have great parkas.

I would also like to take this time to officially say thank you to everyone who has ever commented on my blog. You have no clue what reading those words of encouragement mean to me. I'm glad that as bloggers, we can all support eachother. Everytime I click to see what comments I recieve, I have to control myself not to tear up, because I'm so touched. I'm just so happy that people respect my vision of fashion, and that they take the time to read what I write, and that they find what I wear on a daily basis interesting. So thank you all, you are truly the best :)

Love Angel Music Baby

L.A.M.B. Boots, H&M boyfriend jeans, Hanes white tee.

Last night, I came home to find a giant box on my dining table. In it was my recent eBay purchase, these L.A.M.B. "Chartres" boots. Ever since they came out a few years ago, I have found them totally interesting. I remember seeing Gwen herself in these boots but in black, white and orange and thinking, "What cool boots!" They're not really the hype of fashion and maybe even a little out of season, but I love them. In the words of my friend Brittany, they "kind of look like straight jackets." And although they're not the height of fashion, they are going to look great with some pieces that are (green utilitarian parka, anyone?)

The Truth Will Set You Free

Vintage shirt and bag, American Apparel thermal leggings.

It's been, like, a week since my last post. I've been crazy sick and wearing the same things over and over (I think you're allowed to do that when you're dying.) Meanwhile, I, like the rest of you I'm sure, have been clicking through Style.com as the fall collections come pouring in. I'm starting to notice nineties minimalism being reintroduced, which I'm completely excited about, because that is a hallmark of my own personal style. I'm also noticing a lot or fur- also something to be excited about!

Sorry for the grainy photos. Decided to shoot myself lounging about in my room, I think I was looking for a pen. I promise better photos (and posts, for that matter) to come soon!
